AFTERCARE
Congratulations on your new tattoo!
It is now important to understand that a tattoo it’s a process in which the skin gets broken and therefore open and at risk of getting an infection if not taken care properly. Lucky for you we got you covered on that with those simple steps to follow in order to minimise any risk and guarantee the perfect healing of the tattoo.
- As soon as you get back home it is important to remove the bandage and wash the tattoo with warm water and antibacterial soap. Apply a layer of soap onto your hand and gently massage the tattoo area, then rinse it thoroughly.
- Once the tattoo has been washed you can dry it up using a kitchen towel, ideally by gentle tapping on the tattoo area. Do not scratch it and make sure the tattoo it is entirely dry.
- Apply a thin layer of balm on the tattoo area. It won’t need to be an exaggerated amount, you’ll only need a thin layer in order to maintain the tattoo hydrated.
- I’ll recommend sleeping for the first 2 nights with the bandage on, and keep it for at least 2-3 days during the day in particular if you work or you have to wear clothes in direct contact with the tattoo.
- After 2-3 days the tattoo will start peeling off. Don’t get alarmed it is completely normal, it means it is getting into its healing process and it will start itching. At this point it’s important not to scratch the tattoo or pick the scabbing off.
At this stage you can remove completely the bandage but keep applying the balm whenever you feel it dry ( remember just a thin layer)
- Once the peeling is complete the tattoo it will be way into his healing process, but not completely healed. It is ideal to keep moisturising the tattoo with the balm for the next couple of weeks or till you finish the tube.
- Remeber that a tattoo to be completely healed it takes at least 1 month. So it is important to give the right attention to it in a way that is gonna healed properly and will look stunning on your skin.
Thank you for getting tattooed with me, I hope we can make more of these projects together.
